Create a Message Category

To create a Message Category:

  1. Select Campaigns from the top navigation bar, then select Settings > Categories > Message from the side navigation menu. The Message Categories screen is displayed.

  2. In the Display Name field, enter a name for the new Message Category.

  3. Click Create. The Edit Message Category pop-up window is displayed.

  1. The Label field is populated with the value you entered above; optionally edit this value.

  2. The Internal Name is automatically populated based on the Display Name value. This field is not editable by default. To edit the Internal Name, check Edit Internal Name. A confirmation dialog box is displayed; click Ok. Edit the Internal Name value.

  3. Optionally, to assign a thumbnail image to this item, click Choose File. Browse to and select the desired image file, then click Open.

  4. Optionally, in the Description field, enter a description of this item.

  5. Click Save.

Add a Message to a Message Category

After creating the Message Category, you can begin adding Messages to it. However, you can't add Messages to the Message Category from the Message Categories screen. Instead, you must navigate to the Message Details screen, and add the desired Messages one at a time to the Message Category.

To add a Message to a Message Category:

  1. Select Campaigns from the top navigation bar, then select Campaigns > Messages from the side navigation menu. The Messages screen is displayed.

  2. Search for and select the desired Message (see Search for a Message for more information on the available search options). The Message Details screen is displayed. For Messages in the Email, SMS, and Push Notification channels, the Definition tab is displayed by default. For Messages in the Passbook Notification channel, the Content tab is displayed by default.

  3. Within the header area of the screen, click the Edit icon. The Edit Message pop-up window is displayed. 

  4. From the Categories drop-down menu, select the desired Message Category. Optionally repeat this step to assign the Message to multiple Categories.

  5. Click Save.
